R7515 and 7504 Cartridge Replacement

Preparation:

Before you begin: Keep the water supply valves turned OFF during the process. For assistance, refer to the article, "How tosafely shut off water supply to the Faucet.”

Before removing the handle, gather the appropriate tools to help protect the faucet's finish and prevent accidental damage during disassembly. Using the correct tools will also ensure the repair can be completed safely and efficiently.

  • Allen Wrench 2.5mm
  • Crescent Wrench

Handle Removal:

Locate the Allen set screw on the underside of the handle. Using a 2.5 mm Allen key, turn the set screw counterclockwise to loosen it. The set screw does not need to be fully removed; loosen it just enough to allow the handle to be removed safely.

Once the set screw has been loosened, unthread the decorative collar by turning it counterclockwise. Then, carefully pull the handle and decorative collar away from the faucet body. The handle and collar are designed to be removed together as a single assembly. Use care during removal to help protect the faucet's finish from damage.

Cartridge Installation:

Align the two tabs on the underside of the new cartridge, with the two-tab inlets in the faucet cavity and insert cartridge.

By hand, rotate brass cartridge nut (not shown in image) clockwise to tighten.

Using a large crescent wrench, rotate a ¼ turn, and turn on water to test. If a leak occurs, continue with ¼ turns until leak subsides. Do not over-tighten cartridge nut.
