How to set a maximum temperature on a 2, 3 or 4-way valve
This article explains how to adjust the temperature of a 2, 3 or 4-way coaxial valve so that it does not exceed the set temperature. |
Preparation: |
Important: You will need to open the valve to measure and adjust the water temperature. Please take necessary precautions.
- Recommended tools: 2.5mm allen key, thermometer, may require a small flathead screwdriver
Instructions: |
Step 1: Slowly turn on the water with the volume control handle (A) to activate one of the components. Please take necessary precautions. |
Step 2: Turn on the temperature handle (B) and use the thermometer to measure the eater temperature up to the desired maximum. Once reached, close the valve with the volume control handle (A) without moving the temperature handle (B). |
Step 3: Remove the temperature and volume control handles to expose the tip of the cartridge. For additional information on handles, click here Be careful not to unscrew the retaining nut as it holds the cartridge in place. |

Step 4: Using a small screwdriver or by pinching, slide out the o-ring (1) and remove the temperature limiter ring (2) |

Step 5: Reposition the temperature limiter ring with the tab (red arrow) resting against the cartridge stopper (purple arrow), so that you can't turn it any further counterclockwise (towards hot). This will be the hottest temperature the valve will deliver. |
Step 6: Replace the o-ring and handles. |
