Low Flow:Cleaning Faucet Filters

Filter cleaning is recommended on a Touchless Single Sensor Hands Free Faucet. If you are experiencing overall low water flow and temperature specific low water flow. This guide is for product using the black and gray control box, installed after 2018.

 

Preparation: 

The water supply shut off valves must be turned off- see article How_to_safely_shut_off_a_Kitchen_or_Bathroom_Faucet

First Generation

1. The filters are located in the hot and cold supply lines that come down from the black control box.

2. To remove the hot and cold supply lines from the control box, hold the gray ring down that's located on the black control box where the hose goes into it and pull out on the hose.

3. The filter will be located in the brass portion of the hot and cold supply lines which can be unthreaded with a wrench to be accessed.

4. Rinse debris from filter screen. Reassemble the filter into housing and tighten using two wrenches. Insert the hose assembly into the control box. Turn on the water supply.

Second Generation

1. The filters are located in the hot and cold supply lines that come down from the black control box.

2.Insert each filter hose into a cup of water.
3. Agitate filter hoses back and forth for 15 seconds to remove any possible debris. Remove the filter hoses from cup and drain.

Note: 4. The filter screen can be removed for further cleaning. The filter screen must be reinstalled to maintain product warranty. Use your fingers or needle nose pliers to remove the filter screen.

5. Insert each filter screen into a cup of water. Agitate the filter screen by hand for 15 seconds and then drain the excess water from the filter screen. Repeat the process for both supply line filters.

6. Reassemble the filter screen into the housing using needle nose pliers or by hand. Push it back up into the hose ends (snaps into place).

7. Connect the supply lines to shut off valves. Ensure the faucet supply line with Label (AA) connects to the the hot supply stop. Tighten with a wrench. Turn the water on. Check for any leaks.

8. Check to ensure the handle is working properly. Turn on the water with the handle to test that hot and cold water will run. Turn the handle off.
