ASOP01 Cleaning-replacing the flow reducer

This article explains how to clean or replace the flow reducer when you have a low flow issue
Preparation:

Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.

  • Recommended tools: Adjustable wrench, needle-nose pliers, wood screw.
Instructions:

Additional information: If in step 6 you cannot remove the flow restrictor with the pliers, you can screw a wood screw in and pull it out. Note that it will then be broken and you will not be able to reuse it. If you need to install a new flow reducer, insert it so that you can see the o-ring once it is in. Important: You must have a flow reducer in an open spout faucet, otherwise water will be sprayed over the sink.
