404-406 Rain and Cascade Shower Head Cleaning

This article will provide step-by-step instructions on how to clean or replace a flow reducer on a rain and cascade shower head.

Preparation:

Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. 

  • Recommended tools: 2mm and 2.5mm allen key, needle nose pliers, adjustable wrench
Instruction:

Unscrew the 6 Allen screws (2mm) on the top of the showerhead (see red dots) and pull the trim to remove it from the rough which is on the wall.

Unscrew all the 2.5mm Allen screws around the head (see purple dots) to access the interior

Unscrew the hose marked by the white arrow to access the cascade flow reducer and the red arrow for the rain flow reducer

To clean the flow reducer

Option 1: Blow on it or pass water through this end

Option 2: Remove debris from this end

Option 3: Replace the flow reducer. 

Insert long-nose pliers in the ‘’C’’ clip holes (red arrow), crimp and pull the clip out. Push on the flow reducer from the other end. Place new flow reducer into position

Reverse steps to put the rain cascade showerhead back together
