Swapping handle inserts

This article will explain how to swap between metal and porcelain inserts on the 1/2" Thermostatic and Pressure balanced trim for both Georgian Era and Edwardian Collection.

  1. Handle receiver
  2. Metal spacer
  3. Porcelain insert
  4. Threaded Cap
  5. Oring spacer
  6. Metal insert
  7. Metal stud

 

Dissassemble your handle insert

  1. Unscrew the Threaded Cap (4) 
  2. Pull out insert (3 or 6)
  3. Pull out Metal Spacer (2)
  4. Unscrew Metal stud (7)

  1. Discard O-ring spacer if you are swapping from metal insert to porcelain insert. It is not needed for the porcelain insert. 
Assemble your handle insert

  1. Screw the Metal Stud (7) in first. The stud should be screwed 3 turns only- not any more.
    • Note: if you put the parts on the stud first- the stud will not go into the receiver far enough.

  1. Mount the Metal spacer (2) and insert (3 or 6)
    • Note: The Metal stud (7) should be level with the edge of the insert (3 or 6)

  1. Screw the Threaded Cap (4)

  1. You could use some medium strength lock tite glue to secure the assembly.
