9.26500 Diverter Instructions
Tools Required:4mm Allen key ,Pliers or channel lock & small slotted screwdriver.
Preparation:Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. |
1. Remove the set screw on the back of the tub filler using a 4mm Allen wrench. Pull the spout out of the body of the tub filler. |
2. Remove nut from diverter handle |
3. Pull the diverter handle off. |
4. Remove brass cartridge, the shuttle cock will fall out of the bottom of tub spout hole. |
5. Separate the compression nut from the brass cartridge. |
6. Remove o‐rings and large black plastic ring. Replace the large o‐ring with the new one. Leave this unit disassembled. |
7. Place the new shuttle cock up inside the Exposed tub filler, tapered side up. With the diverter stem placement hole facing out. |
8. Insert the diverter stem into hole in the shuttle cock. |
9. Thread the brass cartridge over the diverter stem. Place the large black plastic ring onto the brass cartridge. |
10. Slide the two small o‐rings on to the diverter stem. |
11. Slide the white plastic ring from the compression nut onto the diverter stem. |
12. Use the compression nut to push the white plastic ring and two rubber o‐rings into place. Then thread the compression nut down until it is tight. |
13. Remove o‐ring from the tub spout and replace with new o‐ring. |
14. Push the tub spout back up into the exposed tub filler body and tighten it down with the set screw. The tub spout will be stationary once it has been tightened down all the way. |
15. Reassemble handle. |
