MB1933 and MB1935 Diverter Replacement

Preparation:

Tools needed:

  • 2.5 mm Allen wrench
  • Smooth-jawed Channel lock pliers
  • 5 mm Allen wrench

Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.

1. Remove diverter knob from the back of the spout.

2. Using a 2.5mm Allen Wrench remove the set screw on the back side of the faucet

3. Pull the tub spout out of the deck escutcheon.

4. Using the smooth-jawed Channel Lock pliers remove the diverter plug.

5. Pull the diverter assembly out of the bottom of the tub spout. Remove the spring from the old diverter rod, and place it on the new diverter rod.

6. Using a 5mm Allen Wrench remove the diverter stem.

7. Pull the O-Ring out of the tub spout and replace it if necessary.

8.. Replace your old diverter with the new one provided and insert it into the spout. To reassemble the unit follow the directions in reverse order.
