18/10 STAINLESS STEEL SINKS
The Foster sinks are manufactured using 18/10 stainless steel of the best quality and of high thickness. The shiny satin finish of the surfaces gives an elegant look, but also makes it easier to clean the sink.
INSTALLATION:
The instructions to install the sink are in the plastic sack containing the fixing brackets. During the installation and to displace the sink, ALWAYS use working GLOVES.
USE AND MAINTENANCE:
- Always clean and dry the surface of the sink after use, to avoid the forming of stains.
- To clean, don’t use abrasive sponges or other materials, but soft cloth with warm water and vinegar.
- To clean more resistant stains, use liquid detergents specifically made to clean stainless steel, such as Stahlfix.
- Don’t leave rubber mats on the bottom of the bowls or on the drainers.
- Don’t pour highly corrosive materials on the sink (hydrochloric acid, muriatic acid, bleach, etc.)
- Cleaning materials with high percentages of chlorine, silicates or ferrous oxides, are particularly aggressive towards the steel, and can cause an electro-chemical attack on its surface, if not removed thoroughly. It is therefore ALWAYS necessary to rinse and dry carefully the sink, after having cleaned it.
- Also the residues of some food, especially if left on the sink for some time, can cause attacks of this kind. Particularly, care must be taken with residues of milk, tomato, coca-cola, preserves, wine, salt, residues of boiling of fish and meat.
- There is no such thing as “bad quality” stainless steel, which has a good look when installed, but develops dots or stains afterwards. The (very rare) defects of the material itself are easily detected during production, and the affected sinks are eliminated. Any stain or dot appearing after the installation of the sink, is caused by its use, and probably by one of the above-mentioned phenomena.
