CU253 Cartridge Replacement Instructions
Tools Required: 2MM Allen Wrench, 3MM Allen Wrench, Large Crescent Wrench, Flat Edge tool
Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.
Handle Removal: |
Locate small cover cap located on the underside/back of lever. Using a flat edge tool, gently pry cover cap away from faucet. Using a 2.5MM Allen key, rotate set screw counterclockwise to loosen (removal of set screw is not required.) |

Pull lever off cartridge stem and away from faucet. |

Cartridge Removal: |
By hand, unthread finished cover ring, and remove. Using a large crescent wrench, rotate cartridge nut counterclockwise to loosen. Continue cartridge removal by hand. Remove cartridge. Flush supplies and faucet ports to ensure adequate flow on replacement cartridge. |

Install new cartridge by aligning cartridge pegs located on the base of the cartridge, with the peg inlets located in the faucet body. Holding cartridge in place, tighten cartridge nut, and continue previous steps, in reverse. | ![]() |
