US01, MZS01 old cartridge 401-124 installation

This article explains how to install the old 401-124 cartridge (blue or grey). |
Preparation: |
Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. These instructions apply to older cartridges models of blue or grey color only.
- Recommended tools: 2.5mm allen key, adjustable wrench

A. Turn-off the water supply. B. Remove the screw cap (1) and take out the handle by unscrewing the 2.5mm Allen screw(2) C. Remove the dome (3) by gently pulling on it. D. Unscrew the brass nut (4) and remove the cartridge by gently pulling on it E. Inspect the 0-ring (a), if needed, replace it with the one supplied with the replacement cartridge, and then replace the o-ring into the nut (as shown on Image 1). F. Replace cartridge (5) into position, while making sure it is properly positioned (The two pins at the back must be inserted in the pre-set holes at the bottom of the faucet). G. Tighten the brass nut, replace the dome and handle in place.
