Replacing a diverter rod and-or the 302-502 rod gasket

This article will explain how to replace a diverter rod and gasket for a deck mount tub filler

Preparation:
  • Recommended tools: 2.5mm allen key. The tool to unscrew the rod and the nut containing the 302-502 gasket will be supplied with the replacement parts.
  • Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.

Disassemble in the order shown

Remove the nut from the spout

Remove the gasket

Closed section facing upwards

Follow the steps in reverse to reinstall the gasket

Remove the diverter rod. Follow the steps in reverse to reinstall the diverter rod.
