How to install a 3 piece deck mount tub diverter 0622 or 0616

This article shows how to differentiate and install the diverter 0622 or 0616 on the 3 piece deck mount tub fillers (models XX10 or XX16).

 Identify the diverter rough model

Preparation:
  • To identify the diverter rough you must have access under the tub deck and might need a flashlight.
Instructions:
  • Using a flashlight look for the center piece (red circle) under the tub deck. That piece is recognizable by having 1 water supply hose connected to one side and the hand shower hose connected to the bottom.

   A)  Model prior to 2018 (#0622)

  • Older model has 2 water supply inlets but one is plugged, see insert.Snag_a2bb447.png

Installation of the diverter rough

Preparation:
  • Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.
  • Recommended tools: 2.5mm allen key, crescent wrench, may require a 10mm allen key, loctite and needle-nose pliers.
Instructions:
1. Remove the spout as per your model

  • **If you received the diverter rough with 2 inlets, model 0622, use a 10mm allen key to unscrew the plug (4) that was in one of the inlets of the old diverter. (If you can't unscrew it, contact us to obtain model 0616, which will replace it without any problem). If you have unscrewed it, check that the threads are clean, apply loctite to the plug and screw it back in one of the 2 inlets of the new diverter.

PROCEDURE:

Make sure parts are in correct order (5).

  • First, tighten the diverter nut (1) on top of the tub until it does not tighten anymore, then screw the ring under the tub (2) and end with the screws (3). Then connect the water supply and hand shower hoses.

  • Before closing, if you have installed the model with 2 water inlets (0622), perform a water test to ensure that the plug is watertight.

**Diverter tool and rod will be provided with the diverter rough.
