Replacing the 913157 Diverter in IFF Faucets
Tools needed: 2mm Allen key, Needle Nose Pliers, and Adjustable Crescent Wrench. Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. |

1. Using a 2mm Allen key, remove the spout from the body by rotating the set screw on the back of the spout counterclockwise |
2. Using a crescent wrench, turning counterclockwise, remove the decorative finial from the spout. (Be careful to protect the finish on the finial and spout). |
3. Remove the aerator from the end of the spout and pull it off the plastic tube by hand. |
4. Pull spout apart to reveal inner tube. |
5. At the bottom of the spout, use needle nose pliers to remove the plastic brace by gripping and pulling outwards. |
6. Use needle nose pliers to pull the diverter out of the bottom of the spout. |
7. Note the location of the holding clips on the diverter holder. This is important upon reinstallation. |
8. Take the diverter off by hand and set it aside. Flush the lines and the faucet. |
9. Install the new diverter, inserting back into proper holding clips by hand. Push back into the bottom of the spout. Reinsert the plastic brace. |
10. Push the spout back onto the inner tube, and back into the ball of the spout. |
11. Using needle nose pliers, grasp the inner tube from the end of the spout and pull down. Reinsert the aerator. |
12. Reassemble the spout. Make sure to line up the top washer with the hole with the set screw to seal properly. Turn the set screw clockwise with a 2mm Allen key to tighten and secure the spout. |
