9.13841 and 9.21427 Replacement Instructions

 
9.13841 Cartridge Replacement Instructions:

The action on the Control Cartridge:

  • Push in to turn on
  • Pull out to turn off

This is the opposite of most side lever faucets in the marketplace

Tools needed:

15" Crescent Wrench, 4 mm Allen Wrench

  1. Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. 
  2. Unscrew lever bolt 9.24745 and insert 9.26760
  3. Remove the brass insert with a 4mm Allen Wrench from the ball assembly 9.01340
  4. Unscrew the finished dome cover 9.12745
  5. Remove the ball assembly 9.01340 from the cartridge stem (if it is difficult to remove, thread the lever bolt back on for added leverage)
  6. Remove the cartridge nut with the 15" Crescent Wrench
  7. Pull out the old cartridge 9.13841, check and clean the chamber of any debris
  8. Insert the new cartridge and follow steps 1-6 in reverse to reassemble the faucet

9.21427 Hand Spray Servicing Instructions:

The action of the hand spray:

Depress the button on the back of the spray head, when the faucet is on to engage the spray. Release the button to disengage the sprayer and the water will return to the spout. If water continues to drip/leak from the spray more than 1-2 minutes after disengaging it, follow the instructions below to service/repair your hand spray

Tools needed:

6" Crescent Wrench, 1 Paper Towel

  1. Lay a paper towel out across the counter top, all work should be done over the paper towel
  2. Unscrew the spray 9.27776 from the hose 9.28426
  3. Unscrew the spray head from the handle
  4. Remove the long plastic tube from the handle
  5. Using the 6" crescent unscrew the large front nut and small back nut on the spray head
  6. Push the cartridge out of the head

a. If you are only servicing the spray: disassemble, clean, and re-grease the plastic components

b.  If you are repairing the spray: replace all the components included in the 9.21427 service kit

  1. Reassemble the spray by following steps 1-6 in reverse order

If there is a leak, stretch the spring and inspect the o-ring in the piston, or replace the complete cartridge
