Cleaning a Screen Washer

If the product leaks between the pull-down wand and hose connection, debris may be blocking the screen. The following steps will show you how to clean a screen washer.

  • Pull the wand out from the faucet as far as the hose allows. To keep the hose from retracting, secure it with a cloth or clip. Cover the drain with a towel or strainer to avoid losing the washer

  • Hold the coupling steady and unscrew the spray wand by hand.

  • Remove the screen washer, which may be inside the hose coupling or at the threaded end of the spray wand.

  • Hold the screen washer beneath the hose and turn on the water. Rinse off any debris that may have accumulated on the screen

Note: When you run water through the hose without the screen washer installed, the water flow should be relatively strong. If water flows weakly through the hose without the screen washer, there may be a blockage further in the system

  • Place the screen washer into the spray wand. The separate O-ring should be seated on top of the screen washer.

  • Tighten the wand and hose together by hand or using a pair of pliers. Be sure to check for any leaks between the wand and hose coupling.
