10741 Cartridge Replacement Instructions

Preparation:
  • Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. 
Tools:
  •  Large Crescent wrench, 3/32” standard allen wrench or 5/64” standard allen wrench
Lever Removal:

Faucet Model/s: R7913, R7913S 

  1. Turn the water supplies off
  2. Remove the red/blue cover cap under the lever.
  3. Swivel the handle to the on position to expose the set screw in the handle dome.
  4. Using a 3/32” standard allen wrench, insert into hole of the lever and rotate the set screw counterclockwise until lever is loose.
  5. Once loose pull off lever from handle dome.
  6. Pull off handle dome from faucet body to expose the cartridge.

Faucet Model/s: R7923, R7663:

  1. Turn the water supplies off.
  2. Locate the open hole on the underside of the handle dome.
  3. With the handle in the off position, swivel the handle forward, allowing better access to the hole at the back of the handle dome.
  4. Using a 5/64” standard allen wrench, insert into hole and rotate the set screw counterclockwise until loose.
  5. Once loose pull handle dome with lever off the faucet body.
  6. Unscrew the cap cover to expose the cartridge.

Faucet Model/s: MB7925, MB7926:

  1. Turn the water supplies off.  
  2. Locate the set screw at the underside of the lever.
  3. Using a 3/32” standard allen wrench rotate the set screw counterclockwise until loose.
  4. Once the set screw is removed, rotate the collar, by hand, counterclockwise from the faucet body.
  5. Once loose, pull off the lever and collar from the faucet body to expose the cartridge
Cartridge Removal:
Place a large crescent wrench on the hex sides of the cartridge nut and rotate counterclockwise to remove Snag_bde2244.png

Pull out cartridge from the faucet body by hand.

Flush out the supplies to ensure there is no blockage

Insert the replacement cartridge, aligning the two pins on the bottom of the cartridge with the two slots in the brass body.

Rotating clockwise, tighten the cartridge nut. Start by hand and then use a large crescent wrench. Test for leaks.

If a leak occurs, using the crescent wrench, continue rotating the cartridge nut clockwise, ¼ turn at a time, until the leak subsides.

Attach the cover cap so that the handle dome insert is inserted correctly, grooved side out toward the hole in the handle dome (red outline shows groove).

Install lever in reverse.
