How To Fix Chips For Shaws And Allia Sinks

This Page Will Assist With Repairing Sink Chip And Small Cracks

Chips are caused by and from an impact. Usually from dishes and/or utensils, but will not affect the
integrity of the sink.

We do offer a glaze touch-up product called Porcafix, which is the only repair solution available for our fireclay sinks.

  • Before applying Porcafix, we strongly recommend thoroughly cleaning the chipped area and its surroundings. This helps prevent the product from absorbing any discoloration from stains.
  • For cleaning, the best agent to use is Astonish or the Pink stuff, along with water. After cleaning, allow the sink to completely dry.

Apply Porcafix directly to the damaged area and allow the sink to sit unused for 24 to 48 hours.

  • This will give the product time to properly set and bond with the fireclay glaze.
  • Once fully dry, gently sand the repaired area using a fine-grit sandpaper to blend the Porcafix with the surrounding surface for a smooth, seamless finish
