This article explains how to adjust the temperature limiter on a 0943-0973 coaxial cartridge whether you have a lever-type or knob-type temperature handle |
Preparation: |
Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.
- Recommended tools: 2.5mm allen key

Lever-Style Temperature handle |
A. Remove the temperature control handle (2) by unscrewing the Allen screw (1). B. To remove the volume control handle (5) remove screw cap (3) and unscrew the Allen screw (4). C. To adjust the temperature, turn on the water flow (by turning the rough ring (9) clockwise or by using the auxiliary output shut off valve).
D. Once desire the temperature is reached, turn off the water flow, unscrew the Allen screws (7 & 8) located on the brass ring (6), pull the brass ring and reposition it to have the Allen screw (7) at 12 o' clock as per below picture. E. Screw back in place the Allen screws (7 & 8) and reposition both handles in place. |
Knob-Style Temperature handle |
A. Remove the temperature control handle (1) by pulling on it. B. To remove the volume control handle (3) unscrew the two screws (2). C. To adjust the temperature, turn on the water flow (by turning the rough ring (7) clockwise or by using the auxiliary output shut off valve). D. Turn the temperature adjustment ring (4) either, left for warmer water or right for colder water. Use the Allen screw (5) as a lever to turn. E. Once desired temperature is reached, turn off the water flow, unscrew the Allen screws (5 & 6) located on the brass ring (4), pull the brass ring(4) and reposition it to have the Allen screw (5) at 12 o'clock as per below picture. F. Screw back in place Allen screws (5 & 6) and reposition both handles in place. |
