Single Hole Lavatory Faucet: How to Replace the Cartridge

This article provides step by step instructions on how to replace the cartridge in a Single Hole Lavatory Faucet
 

The House of Rohl produces a variety of of Single Hole Lavatory faucets. The interior components and assembly are not the same for each model. This article will provide detailed instructions for how to replace the cartridge for 5 different collections of Single Hole Lavatory Faucets; Ciclo: COS01, COS00, Equinox: EQS01, EQS00, Fresk: FRS01, FRS00, Zendo: ZSOP01, ZSOP00, ZS01 and ZS00.The information below will help determine your model and the removal instructions for that product.

Preparation:

Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury. 

  • Recommended Tools: 2.5mm Allen key
Ciclo: COS01 and COS00

Cartridge Removal Instructions:

  1. Turn off the water supply.
  2. Use a 2.5mm Allen key to remove the screw (S152-060)
  3. Lift off the handle (S1-304)
  4. Remove the dome (S305-304) by unthreading it and gently pulling on it.
  5. Using a wrench, unscrew the brass nut (S305-304)

  1. Pull cartridge (S401-301) up.
  2. Install new cartridge making sure it is properly positioned/seated in the faucet. The bottom of the cartridge must match up with  the preset holes in the seat of  the faucet.

  3. Tighten the brass nut, replace the dome and handle in place.
Equinox: EQS01 and EQS00

Cartridge Removal Instructions:

  1. Turn off the water supply
  2. Remove the screw cap (003-121) by lifting it off
  3. Unscrew the 2.5mm Allen screw (152-070)
  4. Lift off the handle (1228)
  5. Remove the dome (052-122) by unscrewing it and gently pulling on it.
  6. Using a wrench, unscrew the brass nut (305-127)  

   PUT WRENCH ON SMOOTH PART ONLY

  1. Pull cartridge (401-122) up.
  2. Install new cartridge making sure it is properly positioned/seated in the faucet (The two pins at the back must be inserted in the preset holes at the bottom of the faucet).

  3. Tighten the brass nut, replace the dome and handle in place.
Fresk: FRS01 and FRS00

Cartridge Removal Instructions:

  1. Turn off the water supply
  2. Remove the screw cap (003-421) by lifting it off
  3. Unscrew the 2.5mm Allen screw (152-060)
  4. Lift off the handle (1201)
  5. Remove the dome (052-122) by unscrewing it and gently pulling on it.
  6. Using a wrench, unscrew the brass nut (305-127)

  1. Pull cartridge (401-122) up.
  2. Install new cartridge making sure it is properly positioned/seated in the faucet (The two pins at the back must be inserted in the preset holes at the bottom of the faucet).
  3. Tighten the brass nut, replace the dome and handle in place.
Zendo: ZSOP01 and ZSOP00

Cartridge Removal Instructions:

  1. Turn off the water supply
  2. Remove the screw cap (003-030) by lifting it off
  3. Unscrew the 2.5mm Allen screw (152-040)
  4. Lift off the handle (1034)
  5. Remove the dome (052-053) by unscrewing it and gently pulling on it.
  6. Unscrew the brass nut (305-053), with the tool that was sent with the cartridge

  1. Pull cartridge (401-039) up.
  2. Install new cartridge making sure it is properly positioned/seated in the faucet (The two pins at the back must be inserted in the preset holes at the bottom of the faucet).
  3. Tighten the brass nut, replace the dome and handle in place.
Zendo: ZS01 and ZS00

Cartridge Removal Instructions:

  1. Turn off the water supply
  2. Remove the screw cap (003-030) by lifting it off
  3. Unscrew the 2.5mm Allen screw (152-040)
  4. Lift off the handle (1034)
  5. Remove the dome (052-053) by unthreading it. You can use a non-slip glove to get a better grip.
  6. Unthread the brass nut (305-053) with a wrench.

  1. Pull cartridge (401-182) up. Please note older versions would have a 401-072 cartridge.
  2. Install new cartridge making sure it is properly positioned/seated in the faucet (The two pins at the back must be inserted in the preset holes at the bottom of the faucet).
  3. Tighten the brass nut, replace the dome and handle.
