10704 Cartridge Replacement R7903 Side Lever Pull-Out
Preparation: |
- Shut water supply to the faucet off: Important: Turn off the water supply at the faucet before starting. You can either turn off the main supply to the house or close the shut-off valves if the faucet is equipped with them. Then open the faucet again to empty it of residual water. Failure to do so could result in flooding or injury.
Tools Required: |
- 5/64” Allen wrench, large crescent wrench

Using the crescent wrench, loosen the lever bolt by gently rotating counterclockwise. Be sure not to damage the finish. Once the lever bolt is loosened, continue rotating the lever insert and threaded bolt counterclockwise by hand. |
Remove lever bolt, lever insert, and lever spacer from handle dome. |
Using a 5/64” Allen wrench, insert into the hole on the handle dome and rotate the set screw counterclockwise until loose. |
Pull out the set screw from the handle dome. Pull off the handle dome from the cartridge by hand. |
Unscrew the finished sleeve from cartridge nut. |
Place the large crescent wrench on the hex sides of the cartridge nut and rotate counterclockwise to remove. |
Pull out cartridge from the faucet body by hand. Flush out the supplies with water to ensure there is no blockage. |
Insert the replacement cartridge, aligning the two pins on the bottom of the cartridge with the two slots in the brass body. Rotating clockwise, tighten the cartridge. Start by hand and then use the large crescent wrench. Test for leaks. If a leak occurs, using the crescent wrench, continue rotating the cartridge nut clockwise, ¼ turn at a time, until the leak subsides. |
Screw the finished sleeve on by hand. Ensure the handle dome insert is inserted correctly, grooved side out toward the hole in the handle dome (red outline shows groove). Install the handle dome and lever in reverse. |
